Jef Payne Smooth Jazz Combo & Tranquili-Tea Fridays You're invited to the Debut of Tea's Me Cafe House Band "Jef Payne Smooth Jazz Combo". Featuring our Music Coordinator Jef Payne with Braylen Westbook, Dwight 'dj" Washington and Antwuan Payne. Please join us at every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month starting 12 Nov at 6:30PM for Tranquli-Tea Fridays. Jef Payne began playing trumpet at age 12. He participated in jazz band, concert band and marching band. He was a member of the Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps in 1989 when traveled the country and competed against some of the best music and marching units in the world. Jef earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN in 1993. He is a music teacher who has taught band, orchestra, choir, piano, and music theory in urban and suburban schools. Braylen Westbrook is an exceptionally gifted keyboard player from a musical family. He began playing keyboard at a very early age. Braylen played in the church and accompanied choirs and soloists long before he could actually read music. His ability on organ and piano has captivated audiences throughout the city and across the state. Braylen has appeared on numerous church and jazz recordings (including Jef Payne's hit single "Feelin' Good"). He is one of the most sought after keyboard players in central Indiana. Dwight "dj" Washington began playing the drums at a very young age. His love for the art of music has afforded him numerous opportunities. He has played in several jazz, marching and concert bands. He has also traveled across the country playing for several churches and gospel groups. Dwight has been featured on several projects and in 2007 was selected to play in the United States Marine Corps Band in Washington, DC. Currently, Dwight is the drummer at his home church here in Indianapolis. Antwuan Payne( Bass) started playing drums at the age 5 where he evolved and started to play for local and major artist across the nation. With music being a big influence in his life he decided to broaden his horizon by picking up another instrument the bass guitar and studying music production. Today he is still recording and touring with local and national artist in gospel, r& b and jazz captivating audiences all across the nation and the world. Admission includes a pot of our signature tea, entertainment and an experience like no other in Indy! As always tea club members will receive their discounted rate.
